Special Operations

The Special Operations Division consists of 8 Sworn Officers and a part-time Graffiti Abatement Specialist. Two officers are assigned to regional task forces. The Special Operations Division Sergeant is Troy Hoefling who supervises:
  • 1 Crimes Against Persons Detective
  • 1 Domestic Violence Investigator
  • 1 Part-Time Graffiti Abatement Person
  • 1 Property Crimes Detective
  • 1 School Resource Officer / Juvenile Crimes
  • 1 Street Crimes Detective

Responsibilities


The primary responsibility of the Special Operations division is to provide specialized, non-patrol services to the community. These services include:
  • Coordination of special events such as Mushroom Mardi Gras, Taste of Morgan Hill, and the Fourth of July Festival
  • Crime prevention
  • Gang enforcement and education
  • Internal affairs investigations
  • Investigation of major crimes and missing persons
  • School related incidents
  • School Resource Officers
